The Department of Computer Science & Applications contributes to preparing students to be technologically competent, innovative, self-motivated, and responsible global citizens with human values and prepare for careers in industry and research organisations on a national and international level.

Objectives

  • To empower rural youth with computer education and skills to continue their education and grow professionally.
  • To provide students the in-depth knowledge in computer science and instil a passion for computer technology.
  • To lay a comprehensive theoretical and practical foundation in computer science, focusing on software development and maintenance.
  • To achieve academic excellence through effective pedagogies and hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies.
  • To advance students' application of mathematical and scientific techniques.
  • To demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving techniques, the analysis of complex issues and the development of solutions utilising information technology.
  • To promote an interdisciplinary approach and research that serves the needs of the entire global community.
  • To fortify the interface between industry and academia to support graduates in becoming academics, employees, or entrepreneurs.

            Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science open the door to various IT careers, including web design and application development. Career options include software developer, systems analyst, System administrator, network architect,  application analyst, application developer, cyber security analyst, Database administrator, data analyst, game designer, game developer, machine learning engineer, penetration tester, web designer, web developer, and many more.
